Random musings

Wow, it's been ages. Literally! The old entries that I made here still amaze me. Mostly funny! haha. I came across an old entry back in 2009, the year when Ike and I became a couple. How time flies...I still can't believe that eight years have passed since the first time I met this shy guy whom I thought was a stalker. I still can't believe he is my HUSBAND already :-) seven years in the making. I am happy more than ever. After all the dramas, we finally settled down. I am now in my final leg of training as a fellow in CT-MRI. Few more pushes and a couple more exams then I'll call it "end". How time flies... I'm just thankful, very thankful for everything that I have today. After all the rantings about duties, studies etc...getting there. Few more steps and I'm there :-) xoxo ljflo

bum life

hi! much as i want to enjoy the free time that I have after hurdling through the series of my diplomate exams, here goes cough and fever that literally put me into to bed for almost two weeks. I've always dreamed of a good rest but definitely not in the bed of sickness. i made myself occupied today by doing paper works for my application as a fellow. (which i am half-hearted doing). yeah bum life is the life. no just kidding. I think I'm starting to miss the people at work especially my girlfriends and the fast-track hospital life. i believe at this point, i have by far accomplished enough for our wedding on November. there are still things that need to be booked but i want to slow down a bit and just be easy peasy for the next three weeks before i officially start. looking forward to the induction ceremonies on the 20th :) i still can't believe those exams were finally over. i've got mixed emotions in seeing the board of examiners again.  Nonetheless, Im excited t

Black tie

And black gown, ehem :-) I enjoyed the PAMET's golden anniv, not only the dressing-up part but the extravagant performances by popular performers as well. A night of showcasing musical talents and honoring the pillars of the association. Best part, just sitting back with mi amore and together we enjoyed the wonderful serenades 😘

1st time patient

Hi! One post per year...how pathetic. Anyway better to have an entry than nada! Recently, I got admitted in the hospital because of DHF (Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever). My first time after 29 years of existence to actually become an in-patient. It was bad, platelets almost dropped to 33, got bursted capillaries in my extremities, minimal pleural effusion, and very poor appetite. Back then, I find this sickness an overrated one. Being a doctor, and a medtech, I've seen so many cases. Dropping platelets, recurrent fever, watch out for signs of bleeding...hydrate hydrate hydrate. I know the pathophysiology, the treatment, all the works. It's different when a doctor becomes the patient. True as everyone says, doctors are indeed the most difficult patients. At the start of my fever, I knew it was a different one, not the ordinary SVI or URTI. After taking in broad spectrum antibiotics, the fever won't go away. My friend, who happens to be an IM resident kept on asking if maybe t

hi

it's been a while really since my last post. ive been too lazy since i started with my residency training. apart from the fact that i almost live in the hospital premises 24/7, i just felt there's nothing much to share except for the roller coaster ride of emotions i have been through these past months. latest about me, getting ready for another local trip this month with friends and boyfie. it's part of our 4th year anniversary celebration. will update this blog soon and will try my VERY BEST to post more often.
